Bad-boy Brown never far from panting crowd

Posted in Chris Brown on April 25, 2011 by breezyworld2

DISGRACED US rapper Chris Brown has tried to be on his best behaviour while in town, going to great lengths to garner good publicity.

After finishing up the Melbourne gigs for his F.A.M.E. tour on Saturday night, the R’n’B superstar headed to Jett Black night club on Greville St for an “official” after party.

Perhaps in an attempt to wipe the slate clean, Brown has been on hand to interact with fans during post-show meet-and-greets, signing autographs and posing for photos.

He needn’t have worried, however.

From the look of the panting ladies queuing to get a glimpse of the singer in the early hours in South Yarra, it appears Brown has not lost his female fanbase, despite being charged with bashing his pop star former girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

As Brown partied the night away with support acts Jessica Mauboy and Australia’s Got Talent winners Justice Crew in the club’s VIP downstairs area, hordes of fans upstairs were almost hyperventilating to see the singer.

After several hours of waiting – and a few frenzied fans in tears – the US star appeared encapsulated by security for a brief hello and to bust out some of his Michael Jackson-esque moves.

The controversial 21-year-old has been enjoying the nightlife Down Under.

After his Adelaide gig last week, Brown drew the ire of staff when he left an “incredibly small tip” after again partying with Justice Crew.

Seems like Justin had the same idea — he posted the above tweet with a link to the video for his duet with CB.

Looks like Down Under is the place to be this week.

Chris Brown releases ‘F.A.M.E.’

Posted in Chris Brown on April 22, 2011 by breezyworld2

“F.A.M.E.” is the title of Chris Brown’s fourth album, which hit stores back in late March. The title stands for “Forgiving All My Enemies” or “Fans Are My Everything,” both of which are very suitable for the young icon.

Despite much adversity, he was really able to create an amazing record. After his last album didn’t do as well as his previous efforts, it was questionable to predict the direction of his career. His career was well-expected to suffer to some extent after his domestic violence case with Rihanna back in 2009.

After not getting big numbers from his last album, Chris Brown decided to move forward. He started making mix tapes. At the time, it was very rare for singers to produce mix tapes. He was bashed for it at first. Three mix tapes later, it’s no longer so rare. Many R&B artists have started doing mix tapes to help promote themselves. For some, it’s the only way they really get heard. Big names like Trey Songz and Dawn Richard (of Dirty Money and formerly Danity Kane) and smaller names such as Travis Porter (signed to Jive with Chris) and RichGirl (also signed to Jive) have followed suit and made mix tapes (Dawn and RichGirl being the more favorable efforts).

One song in particular stood out on his mix tapes: “Deuces” featuring Tyga and Kevin McCall is the mega-hit that everyone should know all the words to. The songs “Deuces” and “No BS” became so big he had to put them on the album. After all the success with “Deuces” and a heartfelt performance on the 2010 BET Awards, Chris knew it was the perfect time to make a comeback.

The first official single is called “Look At Me Now” featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes. The song is doing pretty well and helped pushed the album. “F.A.M.E.” sold 273,346 copies its first week and landed at number one on the Billboard. Surprisingly, this was Brown’s first number one album. He then released a video for a song on the album called “Beautiful People”. It’s not a single, but Brown filmed and created the video himself. The next single is “She Ain’t You”, which borrows the melody of a Michael Jackson song. It’s a good song, and he says the video will be great.

The album is a good balance of R&B and pop. He includes a good number of features, including Justin Beiber, Ludacris and many others (if you include the deluxe edition). He uses Se7en’s (member of RichGirl) vocals on many tracks throughout the album. She has raw undeniable talent, so her inclusion was well appreciated.

Se7en co-wrote some tracks as well. “Up to You”, one of the prettiest songs on the album, has that very traditional R&B vibe that you can’t get enough of. Chris shot a promo video of the song before the album dropped. “Oh My Love” is a fun pop track that shows Brown’s growth and talent. It’s a good song to dance to as well. “Beg For It”, featuring Se7en’s vocals, is definitely the standout song on the deluxe edition. Let’s just say the title is self explanatory.

F.A.M.E. could be considered one of the best albums to come around in quite some time. If you don’t already have it, go pick up your copy of Chris Brown’s new album

F.A.M.E., it’s worth it!

Tyga hit the “RapFix Live” couch on Wednesday and among the many topics he discussed was his friendship with Chris Brown.

In the wake of Brown’s damaged reputation after his infamous altercation with Rihanna in 2009, Tyga became one of the beleaguered R&B singer’s trusted confidantes and musical collaborators. The pair released the joint mixtape Fan of a Fan in 2010, and the single “Deuces” from the project went on to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The Grammy-nominated song was a natural result of the two artists getting to know each other better.

“I could tell after the situation, he wasn’t comfortable about doing certain stuff because he was listening to the wrong people or just listening to the media and stuff and it was eating him up as an artist, creatively,” Tyga told MTV News. “We just hung out. We didn’t even start doing music. I didn’t even pressure him to get on no songs with me or anything. He used to just come to the studio when I was doing mixtape stuff and just vibe. We used to sit there and just chill, joke all day and then have fun.”

During that period Brown, who was known for dropping pop/R&B hits like “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)” and “Forever,” began recording music that showcased him not only as a crooner but as a rapper. Such is the case on the recent chart-topper “Look At Me Now,” featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes, off Brown’s F.A.M.E. album. And Tyga told us he fully supports Brown’s MC aspirations.

“When he started rapping I was just like, ‘Rap, if that’s what you feel like, rap,’ ” Tyga said. ” ‘Do whatever makes you comfortable. You can’t wait for somebody else. Your fans they love you for you. We can shoot these mixtape videos,’ and that’s what we started doing. We shot like four videos back-to-back.”

Those videos were for “G Sh–,” “Holla at Me,” “Deuces,” and “No BS,” which all featured Brown and first appeared on Fan of a Fan.

While Tyga helped Chris Brown come out of what has been the lowest point of his fairly young career with his musical mojo intact, the Compton rapper never considered any backlash he may have received because of the alliance.

“I mean, I didn’t do anything wrong, so why would I get fault for it?” Tyga said. “I’m just a friend supporting and just helping out. I was a fan of him. I’m not gonna [go], ‘Oh, he did something bad,’ and follow the rest of the crowd. I don’t judge people like that.”

Chris Brown Hits The Studio With M.I.A.

Posted in MTV with tags on April 22, 2011 by breezyworld2

Chris Brown is branching out. His F.A.M.E. album sees him expanding his repertoire, and he’s already straddled the line between R&B and dance with “Beautiful People.” Now, he’s looking to push things even further. Though, to be honest, we’re not exactly sure in what direction.

Brown recently logged studio time with the unlikely combination of M.I.A. and Polow da Don, a collaboration he broke on his Twitter account.

“Was in the studio with the incredible M.I.A. and Polow,” he wrote. “Amazing artist[s]! Real talent!”

Polow further confirmed the collabo on his Twitter account, and, from the sound of things, the music they made was revelatory.

“In the lab wit the great Chris Brown and the incredible M.I.A.,” Polow wrote (in ALL CAPS). “Thank you dear lord!”

Polow added, “I’ve waited on this moment my whole career … I feel this song in my soul!” For her part, M.I.A. remained silent about the music, but did mention that she was “shootin’ hoops” with Brown and the producer.

It’s not known if the music they collaborated on is meant for a re-release of Brown’s F.A.M.E., the follow-up to M.I.A.’s 2010 album MAYA or something else entirely. Emails to reps for both artists were not responded to by press time.

Brown is currently on tour in Australia, where, judging by his Twitter feed, he’s taking time to see a whole lot of movies and playing basketball with the Adelaide 36ers of the National Basketball League.

Bobby Brown Thoughts On Chris Brown!!!

R&B star Bobby Brown has had his fair shares of ups and downs during his career and knows all too well what it’s like to get a chance or two to redeem himself. That’s why it’s no surprise that he feels Chris Brown deserves a break and a chance to get back on his feet and redeem himself.

In a recent interview with Street Disciplez Radio, Bobby said of Chris:

“Chris Brown just give that brother a break, because we don’t know what happened between them in that relationship. We don’t know what went on between them, too. I think Chris Brown is a talented artist. I think Chris Brown deserves a second chance, no matter what. Because he’s young and he’s talented.

“Rihanna is doing her thing, Rihanna moved on and people need to move on with what happened between their relationship. And, I think Chris Brown deserves a second chance.

“Compared to things I’ve been convicted of, Chris Brown is a baby. Chris Brown is a good brother and I wish him the best. We need an artist like him. Kids need an artist like him.”

Bobby Brown does have a point. Chris Brown deserves a second chance, especially when you’ve got loons like Charlie Sheen running around still scoring gigs!
What are your thoughts?
